Introduction
It is a curiosity: the evangelical church proclaims the
Bible as the infallible word of God - and seems to take little effort
in teaching its members how to defend that view before the world.
Apologetics is viewed as some ivory tower scheme suitable to people
with doctorates in theology.
But:
1Pe 3:15 NASB but sanctify Christ as Lord in your hearts,
always being ready to make a
defense to everyone who asks you to give an account for the hope
that is in you, yet with gentleness and reverence;
It is obedience to learn apologetics; it is also a strengthening
of our faith and at the same time a tool of evangelism. This
series is rather short for that, and composed of outlines, not text.
The reason for the outlines is that this is intended to be a workshop,
not a lecture. Most of apologetics goes by the name of common
sense. It's just that common sense has become increasingly
uncommon in our time.
